Storybook Design:
For our storybook design we needed to study many types of litterature and literary devices in order to understand how a children's book is made. We started by describing different foods without knowing what they were to get into the habbit of showing and not telling. After, we used a ploot diagram do develop our story and get a feel of what it will look like. We had many ideas so we split off individually. Since we had many great ideas, we combined our best three and tried to make our story surrounding those ideas. We refined our plot diagram and developed our characters. There was one point where we wanted to incorperate a pig into the story (since that was our partner's favorite animal) but we didn't know how to so we got frustrated. Since we had our partner be a super hero we realized that super heroes have sidekicks so we added the pig as our partner's sidekick. We wrote our story on a google doc and that took us about two weeks and a few days for revision. For our illustrations we created a storyboard to get a visualisation of what each page would look like. We later picked 12 illustrations out of the 24 we made. We made drafts of each on scratch paper and later made our final illustrations. We needed to remake some of them and we got somewhat frustrated but it was well worth it in the end. Once we finished outlining our drafts we colored them in with colored pencil and scanned them. When we got our final story and illustrations we used microsoft word to format the book. We put the illustrations with their respective paragraph and sent them to our teacher.
